'Period Kit' - for toilet-free situations



When Erin Reid, 25, attempted the 96-mile (154-kilometer) West Highland Way from Milngavie, outside Glasgow, to Fort William, she came up with the idea. The former student at Napier University now plans to introduce the device in 2024. It's intended for hikers, kayakers, and military people, according to Ms. Reid of East Kilbride.


A portable menstruation kit that can be used outside without access to restrooms or sinks for washing hands.

A reusable menstrual cup and antibacterial wipes are included with the set, allowing for on-the-go cup cleaning. Additionally, it features an applicator that may be used in places without access to running water or bathrooms without the need for clean hands.


Converge, a company that aids in the development of new goods for commercialization by colleges and research institutions, is supporting the development of the new product.


With the help of the Medical Device Manufacturing Centre at Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University, professionals from LU Innovations are presently collaborating with Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen to advance product design.
