Today has been one of those days! the ones that drain you mentally, physically and emotionally that you think it must be at least a Friday! but oh no! its just a Tuesday!
being a parent is hard enough but once your kids get to the teen and preteen years every day is exhausting and you can't even put then to bed early and sit on the couch with a glass of wine!
(these days they go to bed after me!) even that little pleasure has abandoned me!
today was even worse than other days since I had an argument early morning with my daughter's school headmaster who thinks he's gate keeper of Hogwarts or something and not the head of a public junior school in Cyprus! this then put me in a fowl mood for the rest of the day! so thanks for that!
all I can say is that this is cyprus! a saying we have here to explain how things work. from the government to the public schools to the guy who sweeps the side walk...its all about who you know and how to cut corners or influence peoples lives...and not in a good way. the lowly headmaster tries to wield his 'power' over the parents and students...what he doesn't bargain for is a mom who grew up in Africa and doesn't scare so easy!

then my son is supposed to be studying for exams...so he's sitting at his desk...looking through his notes....or straight through them? only time will tell...he's either going to get excellent grades or fail the class...my nagging seems to travel though the one ear and fall out the other one...no stopping in between! in a few weeks we will know....
so people, my advice for tired Tuesdays....get a baby sitter and go out drinking!
