School holidays for kids might be a break but for adults who need to keep them entertained its a nightmare! Every year when summer holidays get near I start to stress about what I'm going to do with the kids for 3 whole months! Some years I send them to summer school which needs a full months wages for half a day of fun and games...other years a refuse to pay for them to splash around a pool and have a basic nuggets and chips lunch only to return home hungry and bored with the same daily routine! So here are some ideas for you to try keep the little monsters entertained...

1. Check out local activities on offer:
Try find places like parks or shopping centres that organise games...

2. Help them find a casual or part-time job
This was something I did this year. if they are in high school and you can find someone who can give them a part time job even its for a couple of hours a day during the week then its a good way to keep them busy and off the technology and they can earn a little pocket money too! win!
3. Head to the beach
Speaking for Europe, (although this year the whole globe is on fire) in summer we tend to spend a lot of time at the beach. whether its for the day or a few days, its like a national summer must! Pack a picnic with sandwiches, fresh fruits and juices and head to the beach. In Cyprus especially we have mo shortage. there are many organised beaches with umbrellas and beach beds and then there are many where you will just plop down on your beach towel underneath an umbrella you took with you. Don't forget your sunblock and kids toys! My kids are kept entertained with a bucket and shovel!

4. Take a family holiday
Wether you will do it locally or overseas a family holiday is always great for kids and adults alike! This can be in a hotel or camping...by car, train or plane! Whichever or wherever make sure you have organised some fun things to do and see so that you will have amazing memories from each holiday with your loved ones!
5. Encourage them to prepare for the new academic year
As the holidays come to an end you can make a schedule and take them shopping for stationery, school clothes or bags. Try to plan it over the course of a few days so that they don't get tired and grumpy while you take them from place to place to get everything they will need.
